        It has been said that we should practice what we preach. A person may say one thing even proclaim and preach it,. If that person knowingly and constantly, not sometimes when weak,  live in a opposite way they are practicing.  Praticing something is to train and making yourself an expert in that behavior or skill. This is how humans learn by study and practice. Practice can be called "walking" it is a life style and actions which preach by example.  Actions the saying goes speak louder than words.  Francis of Assisi said "It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching."  The BIBLE says in Romans 14:7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.
