QUOTE OF THE WEEK.

TAMING THE MEMBER

James 3:1-12         James the Half brother of Jesus wrote the book of James to Jewish believers. Most of the early church was Jewish. Jews who had the LAW were very aware of the danger of sinning with words. In the first part of the third chapter James address a problem with the tongues and words ; that we still find today in the church and society. People use the tongue and their words for all manner of  good and evil. The use of the wrong pronoun can cost a person a job. Words that are sexist, racist or phobic can destroy lives and careers. The news is filled with these stories every week. The tongue can also be electronic when we speak on Facebook, twitter ,You tube and other social media platforms. What does GOD have to say about the evil use of the tongue and words. JESUS in Mathew the 12th chapter said  " 36. THE BEST FOR LAST

Sermon Synopsis:  John 2: 9- 10.     9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. KJV     The world offers all its good things NOW. You then end up lost and dying in your sins.  The good wine is given first then the cheap is served and poisons and kills. Jesus saves the best for last. Tears and suffering may come but heaven and things no human can imagine await his children. The Lord Almighty: Father, Son and Holy Spirt saves the best for last .    Evangelist Focht   link to Sermons/Scripture commentary    http://www.ccphilly.org/

OUT OF THE SLIME

Isolation and uncertainty about safety, finances and the future are on the minds of most people in the world today. This is especially true in those countries hardest hit by the pandemic. The problems are here and they are real.  Is there a word from the LORD GOD?  Psalm 40 verse 1 and 2 contain words written by King David but inspired by GOD's Holy Spirt. 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. The king words written as a song says that problems and trouble had come and did not leave quickly. David had to WAIT but with a certain disposition. He had to have patience for GOD to do his work. Notice time passes while David waits crying out to GOD;  first GOD hears  him then as he continues to cry out GOD turns. GOD then lifts him and lastly places him in a safer more stable place. David's message when trouble comes  is to wait,
