                                   Trapped in a burning building with one way out !

    I was listening to Mike winger, who is a Christian apologist and speaker.  He was discussing how people get angry when they are told that there's only one way to heaven.  a burning  anger comes at being told there is one way to be right with God, one way not to end up in hell or more specifically the lake of fire. Many people get upset and angry Christians have been branded as elitist, phobic and intolerant because of this TRUTH. A truth spoken by Jesus Christ himself. John 14: 6 "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. "  That is clear but what about those before Christ well the bible says in Romans 4: 4 "What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” faith in the light God has given. All those before Jesus were made holy and redeemed by looking toward the Cross.  We now are redeemed by looking back to the cross. 

     I may not agree with everything Mr. Winger teaches but during one speech ; he gave an illustration that I found interesting.  I'm going to try and paraphrase what he said and maybe elaborate a little on his premise. The illustration is in regards to the eternal end for all who have rejected faith in Gods Revelations and ultimately in Jesus. First, why will anyone go to the lake of fire. All of us humans are in this situation because the Bible says  Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  We broken Gods laws of conscience, or  the law given to the Jew or laws to love others and God.  The result is Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  We all have ,because of our wicked thought , actions and in action, lit a fire . We are trapped or were trapped in a situation where there is no escape! God however, has provided and escape. God is not being unfair to provide just one way.  he is actually being merciful because he doesn't have to provide an escape but he does!  ,let us imagine one of the scenes from any movie or TV Show about fire fighters and a fire. The blaze and smoke engulfing rooms, whole floors people screaming with no way out; trapped as the fire gets closer. Mr. Winger compared God's Wrath to that type of fire brought to humans due to sin !  Many preach or believe, in error,  that it is because we do not accept Jesus as Savior and Lord !  Many say I cannot believe in a god who would send you to hell because you did not accept Jesus. No we all have a destiny with Hell and then the Lake of fire because of our SINS! This is Justice not injustice! Mercy provides a way out.  His name is Jesus Christ. 

   A Building is burning and person is trapped inside with no escapee, he said . A Fire fighter comes to the building. The person trapped inside, is the person who set the building on fire. The Fire fighter says I have come to save you! I have the way out follow me it is the only way ! The person trapped says I am offended! by you telling me there you are the only way out! , and that you alone can rescue me!  If that person stays feeling justified and wants to find there own way out ; when they burn to death !!  We should not blame the fire fighter.  If the firefighter had caused the fire then you have an argument  BUT all humans,  like that  person, caused the fire, all are guilty by their acts,  all our sins ! All the fire person did was come to save you and that person from what they have done !   It is each person choice to GO with them and escape.!!   Jesus is the cure not the cause of the wrath , hell and damnation.  !  You do not have to stay trapped in a burning building. .

    Going beyond just that one famous verse we have John 3:  14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil."  The Fire has been lit ! The building is burning ! Hell and the lake of fire are burning! do not stay trapped!  There is no other way out !  Get out in Jesus Christ.!
