A Christmas baby

It is the season to celebrate holidays: the winter solstice  the festival of lights  and for many the birth of the  baby Jesus.  Billions celebrate the birth of this baby. Fewer actually celebrate the real Jesus during this season.  The popular Christmas baby Jesus is silent. He is innocent, wrapped in cloth laid in a manager with a shining star overhead. He lay in the midst of animals , his parents and 3 magi kneeling with gifts. He does not speak or judge. He is the perfect symbol for many of spirituality without legal or moral demands.

In the movie Talladega Nights in one scene the stars are sitting down to eat and  get into an argument. They argue you may shocked to know about Jesus. Ricky Bobby the protagonist says  "I like the Christmas Jesus best when I'm sayin' grace." That would be the baby Jesus he speaking of the silent mostly inoffensive one. I say mostly because there are many who find even the sight of the nativity scene to much to bear. They have no place for God at all. Christmas is the time for them to protest and try to have all nativity scenes removed. In the same scene another character Cal says his "Jesus wears a Tuxedo T-shirt. . . because his Jesus likes to party." I believe millions would agree with either of these characters that they like their own Jesus better than the real Jesus.

The truth is the baby Jesus while silent is spoken for by others. The Angels in Luke 2:11 " For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." And in Luke 1: "32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end." To the Magi from the East and in Jerusalem Matthew 2: 1. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him. 3. When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.

The actions of King Herod speak loudly; he was so fearful of who the baby Jesus was that he began an infanticide !!  Jesus was born human a savoir messiah king and God. The moment the Holy Spirit  with Mary's consent created a body and vessel for the "SON" the "word became flesh.  That "WORD" embodied all the moral laws of God the father from Genesis to Malachi. The baby Jesus was not a blank neutral every baby. He was God the Son emaculatly conceived by a virgin. His very presence said the world was filled with sinners who could not save themselves and could not bring peace to the Earth themselves. Those who protest and try to replace nativity scenes recognize part of the true baby Jesus. They like Herod hate the baby Jesus.

Jesus warned in Matthew 24: "23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christ and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand. 26 So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. Baby Jesus that stands for nothing is a created Jesus. Like other Jesus that only show one part of the Whole.  Jesus is a silent baby, a long haired social justice warrior,  Communists eco-leftist, or a  hard line conservative ready to send hellfire down on sinners with no mercy or patience.

Celebrate Christmas and the real Baby Jesus . The one so many now find offensive when they see a nativity scene. The one on the first Christmas worshiped by Shepards ,Magi and Angels.
