The Roman Road

         Sharing the Gospel is the great commission given by Jesus Christ to all his followers in Matthew 28:19-20. There are many books and methods for witnessing or sharing the Good News that is the Gospel. Decades ago one method became popular for those who were not experts or scholars it is called the Roman Road.  The Roman Road is a simple witnessing tool that uses scripture from only 1 book of the Word of God to present the Gospel. The message of salvation is contained is numerous scriptures through out the whole bible.They are commonly used by experienced street air witnesess.and those in different ministries. This simpler method does not use scriptures like John 3: 16, Isaiah 53 ,  Ephesians  3: 8 and 9. or Acts 2 : 38. it uses a few verses form the Book of Romans written by "Paul the apostle.Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)(Rom. 5:8 and 9 (Romans 10:9

The Roman Road starts with:

1.  Why we all need a savior (Romans 3:23-  All have sinned and fall short of Gods demands for holiness those  people are called sinners.

2.  The result of being a sinner is second part of the road (Romans. 6:23)- justice demands that our the guilt from our sins results in death. That death is eternal; what we call the lake of fire and separation from a holy and just God.

3.  The third part of the road is the answer to sin and God's judgment. (Romans. 5:8 and 9 )and/or (Romans 6:23b). A savior who takes our punishment and pays for all our crimes

4. The last part of the Road is how to gain salvation  and forgiveness (Romans 10:9).

     The Roman Road should not be used as the only witnessing tool; it is a simply one way that  is used to witness.  Those who witness and gain experience should add all the rich scriptures that show the glorious path made by The  Father, Son and Holy Spirit to heaven.

Romans 3:23-For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom. 6:23- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans. 5: - 8. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  9. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Romans 10:9 -That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
