Youtube finds Jesus R rated
A few weeks ago an elder and deacon from my church ask me to post our pastor's video so those without Facebook could watch. I agreed to post it to Youtube and sent the link to her. To my utter shock i received an email from Youtube explaining that the video was flagged and why! This was disturbing to me since having watched the video i found nothing that was , in my opinion objectionable. The video was of a communion service with a baptism. Youtube's reaction and i am quoting here from their email was "We wanted to let you know that our team has reviewed your content and we don't think it's in line with our Community Guidelines. As a result, we've age-restricted the following content:Video: Shift Your focus." "What "age-restricted" means We age-restrict content when we don't think it's suitable for younger audiences. This means it will not be visible to users who are logged out, are under 18 years of age, or have Restricted Mode enabled. It also won't be eligible for ads. Learn more about age restrictions." The video was partially censored and isolated as objectionable to those under 18 and any casual viewers who was not logged into Youtube. This flagging and partial censorship left me realizing that the "WORLD and the "Christian" have different views on what is objectionable. The bible warns us in John 15:18-19 "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. The words of God offend as Matthew 15: 10-12 shows "Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”12 Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?"
The video was the service with gospel music , a baptism , a sermon and Holy Communion. No profanity , insane radical political views , sex or violence. The sermons topic was from "Shift Your focus." It was a sermon about shifting from focusing go the world to Jesus. The story of a lame man begging then being miraculously healed is inspiring read Acts chapter 3. His reaction which was to rise up and walk right into the temple to glorify God and testify deserves a hallelujah Children in thousands of churches around the world have heard this for millennia. Maybe you say children would be afraid seeing person baptism by a quick backward dunking into water. Maybe they would be frightened that the person is being drowned. The answer to that is no becasue the baptism was off camera.The servie was broadcast from a cell phone used for the service on Facebook live. It was a single camera view of the pulpit . My view is that the topic of Jesus as Savior , and God is becoming less tolerated. The word warned Christians that this would occur because we live in a fallen world. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. Watching movies , news and any social media n the last 30 years it is obvious that tolerance of traditional Christian doctrine has become offensive to many and many are intolerant if not hateful.It begins with a R rating which is basically what "age-restricted" means and unfortunately could one day progress to a total ban. After the ban may come arrest or like in many nations death sentences. Take The free nation of England where street preacher are fined or arrested ( 1. 2)
There is good news i appealed and won my appeal. Here is part of the response from Youtube. "After taking another look, we can confirm that your content does not violate our Community Guidelines. Thanks for your patience while we reviewed this appeal. Our goal is to make sure content doesn't violate our Community Guidelines so that YouTube can be a safe place for all - and sometimes we make mistakes trying to get it right. We're sorry for any frustration our mistake caused you, and we appreciate you letting us know." Remember videos are reviewed by people and they have thier own personal biases. The person that may check would have a different view of what should be restrcted.The police arresting Christians in England people killing them in Middle East or Africa or your family or co-worker who call you a bigot or intolerant for saying Jesus is the only way believe sincerly that they are righteous and you EVIL. Jesus warned in John 16: " 2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me." Most people in the world find the Bible, God and Jesus and offensive or inappropriate. Paul himself was a hardcore hater of Christians persecuting them because he felt THEY were not "suitable for younger audiences" or any audience, but deserved to be censored, canceled, arrested and maybe even killed. Those Jesus spoke of could be you Youtube, twitter, coworkers , politicians, neighbors , friends or even family.
I was sad that i had to "fight" to have the video allowed. Sometimes like Paul we have to use the system to protect our rights and freedoms. Paul used his Roman citizenship to help proclaim the Gospel, I appeal and God allowed a victory. working within the legal and permissible frame work of government and a corporations rules is allowed.. That why Christians need to vote and to use what platforms and freedom they have to proclaim the Gospel. I could have " just prayed "" but we need to pray and act.. God uses the physical worlds rules , policies and laws to accomplish his purpose as well as the spiritual . We have to use the tools provided. God used Pharaoh and Egypt to bless his people and save them from famine by setting up Joseph in a real world position of power. If the small Jewish tribe lead by Jacob had took no action and stayed out of Egypt they would have missed God working through the system to save them and the messianic line.
