GRACE

There are 3 kinds of Grace:

A. Saving

B. Equipping

C. Empowering

All we have recieved is by Grace

John 1: 15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, "This is the one I spoke about when I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' ") 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

The Testimony of John the Baptist

19 Now this was John's testimony when the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.

1 Peter 5:5 Young men, in the same way, submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “ God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“God resists the proud,But gives grace to the humble.”

Proverbs 3:34 He mocks the mockers, but gives grace to the humble.

GRACE - Is love in action unmerited and undeserved

A. Saving :

Because of Gods Grace:

1. Salvation is a free gift from god

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

New King James Version

John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.New International Version

In the Greek word is - (xáris) is sometimes rendered "thanks" but the idea is "favor, grace" ("extension towards").  kindness *1

Because of Gods Grace:

2. Salvation is paid for

Romans 3:23-24 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 11:5 In the same way, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6 And if it is by grace, then it is no longer by works. Otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.

We receive the grace though faith - BUT we must choose !  Most people reject God's grace. They are not humble and they are to proud to say: "I cannot save myself",   So God will resist and reject you. Cain let his pride resist God.  He gave his own offering but was to proud not humble himself and to worship as God ordered !

Genesis 4: 3 At the designated time Cain brought some of the fruit of the ground for an offering to the Lord. 4 But Abel brought some of the firstborn of his flock even the fattest of them. And the Lord was pleased with Abel and his offering, 5 but with Cain and his offering he was not pleased. So Cain became very angry, and his expression was downcast. 6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why is your expression downcast? 7 Is it not true that if you do what is right, you will be fine? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. It desires to dominate you, but you must subdue it.” 8 Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Because of Gods Grace:

You just have to use your hands to take the gift(of salvation) all have to do is take it!  - Most say NO!  Like a coat or clothing  giveaway at a church . The Coats and clothing are given away, a person only needs to take the free gifts . Some people may refuse the free clothes because the styles are not name brands or they do not like the colors.

B-- Equipping GRACE

Because of Gods Grace:  we are equipped to do the work of God:

Romans 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

1 Corinthians 12 4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.New King James Version  We become instruments of Gods grace !  becasue we are the body use gifts to minister NOT enrich ourselves

God provided salvation and equips true Christians to do his work . God gets all the glory !

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

C- Empowering GRACE

As Christians we have to say no to the culture and go against the culture.  We have exam ourselves becasue the more we live for Christ the more energy we require. To be faithful to Gods service or win others to Christ we require Gods energy.

Acts 4: 33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. New King James Version

God allowed Paul's "thorn" to put him in check. God did this to keep him from being high minded. He had to depend on Gods grace.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Final words on GRACE:

God gives grace to whom he wills and some more some less it is up to God !!

Exodus 33:19“I will cause all My goodness to pass before you,” the LORD replied, “and I will proclaim My name— the LORD— in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”

Being able to go to God in prayer is GRACE:

An example of grace is when Esther  Esther 5:1 On the third day, Esther put on her royal attire and stood in the inner court of the palace across from the king’s quarters. The king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal courtroom, facing the entrance. 2 As soon as the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she found favor in his sight. The king extended the gold scepter in his hand toward Esther, and she approached and touched the tip of the scepter.

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.New King James Version

God will either remove the problem or give grace to go through the fire
