Christmas ?

                                                                   Christmas?

Christmas, Easter the Sabbath day bring disputes over whether they are PAGAN or is it the right day. So earlier in the last few weeks I overheard a conversation between a sister in Christ when she tried to witness to a person. As she was witnessing he asked her "but what about the Sabbath when do you worship" and she admitted on Sunday. The person then said "what about Christmas do you celebrate" and she said "yes" and he immediately began to talk about the fact that sunday was not the sabbath and Christmas is pagan day and we do not know when Jesus was actually born. The message of the Gospel could have been sidetracked as she tried to defend celebrating Christmas and Sundays. We are going to speak about her response later.

2 Timothy 2:14 says "Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."  King James Version and Titus 3:9  says "But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. 10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition, "New King James Version. These scriptures can be difficult to follow in our anti-Christian lie filled world.   A word filled with Youtube, TikTok, Twitter or X , Facebook and all types of Social media that attacks , twist, misinterprets and misrepresents the Bible and God's truth every minute of the day.  However, the bible tells us to avoid these type of arguments. I think that if you are in a ministry that deals with defending the gospel, apologetics, a scholar or debater,  then you have to deal with the thousands of questions and attacks. At times you may need to deal with that if you have a dedicated Street ministry or a friend or family member actually seeking and answer for a specific question. The bible does not say do not provided a reply or response - In fact  1 Peter 3:15 says "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed.: Give an answer but and the truth. If Jesus could not convince everyone we will not either.

The sister had an answer to  "is Christmas pagan." Her answer was not a detailed defense. I've heard some and I'll post some links below.  In my opinion her short answer  and her return to presenting the gospel was what Paul was speaking about. She said that her parents didn't remember when her and I believe she said her brother were actually born. The actual date was lost so her parents chose a date that was close enough and they celebrated birthdays on that day. The important thing she said was that we were born and they chose a day.  She made an excellent point, Many Christians say Christmas is Jesus's birthday, actually that's not the reason we celebrate. It is the birth of a savior and the moment when God entered in to the world in human form. God came to accomplish salvation and bring peace, through the blood of Jesus, to those who accept his truth! No matter which day it happened on specifically! it's why we celebrate Christmas, it's not just happy birthday Jesus ! No it is as Matthew 1:23 Celebrates  “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”Emmanuel came hallelujah! The Angels proclaimed and so does every Christian !

Do you know the exact specific day and time no, I think not, but like that sister in the Lord said we know it happened and that's what we celebrate! It doesn't matter if every pagan religion or any religion celebrated a particular day or a particular period because it was winter solstice or whatever! They are stealing the spotlight, they are the ones who need to back off because the real and true and living God should be celebrated everyday is his day! it's not about who was celebrated it's who should have been celebrated! It's not pagan, Check videos below,  But whatever you beleive  the truth is everyday is God's Psalm 24:1 says "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."

Additional scriptures :

2 Timothy 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.King James Version

2 Timothy 2:14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.NIV

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless. 10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,New King James Version

2 Timothy 2:23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. New King James Version Just present the TRUTH and explain but do not argue or dispute .

Merry Christmas- Praise the Lord
