Why did God save you ?

Why did God save you ?

Did God save you just so you could do nothing for him or his Kingdom, then go to Heaven?  Think of all the disciples who followed Jesus, Women of the bible like Mary , the woman at the well, and Martha.  They all did something  think of the men and women through 66 books of the Bible The Saint's worked and lived their faith  even if that sometimes means they died for the faith.  St. Augustine Said  “The grace of Christ does not find saints and make them sinners, but finds sinners and makes them saints.” and Ephesians 2:10 says“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

We are saved to be saints and do good works, but those works are part of God will for us and part of his commands found in Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Judaism calls it a "mitzvah!” a word been in popular understanding meaning a good deed. The word in the formal Jewish faith is related to obeying God's law and commands . "Mitzvah literally means “commandment.”  In fact, Jewish tradition understands exactly 613 mitzvot (plural of mitzvah) to be derived from the Hebrew Bible. The 613 are listed in Maimonides‘ Sefer Hamitzvot (Book of the Commandments), divided into “positive” (things one is required to do) and “negative” (things one may not do)"--

We are saved to observe God's moral and spiritual laws and to be sources of God love and voice in a fallen world.  Ask yourself , why did God save you ? what does he want you to do with your life . The bible has some main  calling  found in Ephesians 4:11-16 which says in "11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:"  I would also add all those who contribute money, time and abilities to support the listed ministries. We see this the bible there were priest but also guards and servants who supported the priest. In the new testament donations and collections were a part  of supporting those in need.. God saved us to do something . for " mitzvot" That express the 2 greatest commandments and his holiness. Lord Jesus Father God and Holy Spirit help us to  DO " good works,"
