Christmas should we celebrate?
Christmas should we celebrate?
This not an article aimed at those are grieving, who are broken by the lost of loved ones and missing smiles and laughter of family and friends. There are reasons believers or those who celebrate Christmas in the past choose not to , Emotional and personal or there lives are in danger in the nations or families in which they live.
This is for those who loudly proclaim during this time and season that Christmas is a symbol of the pagan or even idolatry. Some even claim it may even be Satan worship in disguise. This idea thou hyperbolic in my opinion, could be partly true if the center and only part, of your celebration is Santa , elves, the north pole and gifts :to the exclusion of Jesus Christ . If the lack of celebration is for reasons not personal , emotional or life threatening , and you choose not to celebrate, ask yourself when do you celebrate the birth of the savoir? The person who was born of a virgin sinless to become the sacrifice for the Worlds' sins on Calvary. Many of those same people find Easter problematic . So again when do you celibate God Emanuel with us??!!
Is December 25 his actual birthday?, most likely not, but why deny a happy birthday praise to the Father and Son for the Savior's birth. The crowd of naysayers declare becasue the day was once pagan! Guess what so where you before you were made holy through the blood of Jesus! Do you choose never celebrate his birth? If you pick a day then it may not be one of the 365 days on which he was born. The church choose one. When you abandon the day claiming the celebration is pagan in origin and it is not his actual birth date, Then you leave it pagan!! The Word of God says we are to per Ephesians 5:16 "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Remember before you accepted Jesus Christ as savoir you the the day before him was pagan !!
You also join a chorus of billions screaming in HATE, some murdering those who ever celebrate his birth and claim a savoir was born !! Muslims say it Harim ,a sin, to celebrate!! Pagans shout No it is just the Winter solstice, most Hindus will not celebrate with you and the atheist will say with glee merry Xmas. It is not there job to proclaim Jesus it is ours as Christians. Why are you joining billions who deny our Lord and Savior as Lord and Savior!!! Who hate him and you ! When the season comes are you joining the chorus of voices denouncing celebrating Jesus or are you joining the angles singing .....
Luke 2:
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
If refuse to celebrate because you feel you are to holy or religious .Look in that mirror You may be wearing Pharisee robes ! Remember they attacked Jesus for healing on the wrong day !!! Mathew 12:10 And a man was there with a withered hand. And they asked him, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—so that they might accuse him. Stop telling people it is the wrong day to celebrate Jesus!!!!! Some real old time Christmas songs include these verses:
Joy To the World by Isaac Watts (1700s)
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! / Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room / And heav’n and nature sing,
And heav’n and nature sing / And heav’n, and heav’n, and nature sing.
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by an Unknown Author (1800s Century)
God rest you merry, gentlemen / Let nothing you dismay,
For Jesus Christ our Savior / Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan’s pow’r /When we were gone astray.
Chorus:
Oh, tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy / Oh, tidings of comfort and joy.
O Come, All Ye Faithful by John F. Wade (1800s)
Oh, come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant / Oh, come ye, oh, come ye, to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him, born the King of angels
Chorus:
Oh, come, let us adore Him, oh, come, let us adore Him / Oh, come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.
O Holy Night by Placide Cappeau (1800s)
Oh, holy night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees, oh, hear the angel voices!
Oh, night divine, oh, night when Christ was born!
Oh, night divine, oh, night, oh, night divine!
Go Tell It On the Mountain by an Unknown Author (1900s)
While shepherds kept their watching / O’er silent flocks by night,
Behold, throughout the heavens / There shone a holy light.
Chorus:
Go, tell it on the mountain / Over the hills and everywhere;
Go, tell it on the mountain / That Jesus Christ is born.
Do THESE songs pagan and blasphemous to YOU!!
So why you should celebrate CHRISTMAS? in my opinion : Whether it is the actual day he was born, Celebrate the fact that he was born! We are to redeem the time! Everyday is a day to celebrate his birth life a death and resurrection . Don't stop because it is the 25th of December !!!
