God's House

The lesson is about the dedication of the first temple located in Jerusalem from approximately 957 to 586 B.C. it was built by Solomon and destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. first of all what is a temple? A temple is a building for religious worship. The majority of Christianity does not have temples and we will later explain the reason why.  Lesson  from  1 Kings 8:22 - 24; 37-39, 46, 48-50 "1 Kings 8: 22 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven; 23 and he said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. 24 You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day. 25 Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised Your servant David my father, saying, ‘You sh

Jesus is your Security Blanket

Jesus is your Security Blanket 1.  he calms the storms in your life  Matthew 8:23-27   23 And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. 24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Matthew 14:22-32 22 Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. 23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. 24 But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves

MOCKERY of Jesus

MOCKERY of Jesus   As millions sat down to watch the opening ceremony of the 2024 WORLD Olympics games in Paris many were treated to a shocking event. The tolerant inclusive Olympics committee allowed a live performance of"ART"  were the last supper was reenacted by a host of drag queens and  performers mocking in glorious color and flamboyancy an ordinance of the church. Jesus said in Luke 22:19 "And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." The fact that is was portrayed that way appeares to be a Pagan and LGBTQIA+ attack is not the point. The performers could have been dressed in $2000 suits sitting on company board of directors , or have Elite college PHD's standing in their c

Preaching Silently

From the pulpit,The ambon or ambo, sermons are preached everyday somewhere in the world.  people stand on the streets for hours , teach church school and bible classes. They may stage a debate in a scholastic setting that takes several hours, hand out a religious track or speak on YouTube or TikTok, for a few minutes. God's Word and his call to received Jesus as the answer for sin is proclaimed and explained. The truth is that throughout the entire history of the church one of the most important witness and "preaching " has been done in silence. The church has represented the Lord Jesus correctly and other time failed miserably to represent Jesus to the world.  The works, deeds and personal words of Gods saints and sheep have spoken as the quote says " louder than words.      James speaks about the failure of the early church in "preaching silently:  In chapter 2: 14  he says "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not

Overcoming stinking thinking

Words of God: Colossians 3:1. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatev

God's DEBT

St .Augustine in his work Confessions spoke poetically about the constant prayer of his mother for his salvation .  In one part he expressed how ...." in her ceaseless prayers she laid them them before you as though they were pledges signed by your hand."for, since your mercy endures forever* by your promises you deign to become a debtor to those whom you release from every debt. " *(Psalm 118 1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.)    His mother brought God's promises from scripture to him in her prayers. Reading this I suddenly understood what St .Augustine was saying , a truth that we sometimes overlook in our reading of Scripture and in our own prayers. God with each covenant the has made whether the one with Adam and Eve, through Abraham, to the promises made to the children of Abraham ,through Moses on Sinai - Deuteronomy and in Jesus Christ each one made God the creator, the Alpha and Omega a debtor to his creation !!  How doe
