MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE

Sermon synopsis:


2 Peter Chapter 1: 1-11 

 V10 : Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

God elects people and nations.  God chooses nations and people to do his will in the world this is a calling.  No one is in this world by accident, Everyone God sends into this world has a light and a purpose. Every Christian must ask what is their purpose for existence. Peter says make your make your calling and election sure. God saved you for a reason no one can handle your assignment. No one can pray, teach or preach for you  or fulfill your calling. No person is here to as the word says  in Isaiah 22:13 "eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die "  

  If you are Christian your life is not our own. God has an election and calling on your life. Find your election and calling so you can fulfill God's purpose for your life. How can you make your calling and election sure? Check your life are you bearing fruit. A life being rooted in Christ Jesus will produce the fruit spoken of by Peter in verses 5 to 7. Make your calling and election sure by checking for the fruit.  God gives every true Christian all they need to live godly and reflect reflect his person. We all slack on the Lord. God has put more in us than we give back; he has deposited more in us than we give out. We owe it to GOD to pour out all he has given so we can fulfill his election and calling.

Christmas ?

                                                                   Christmas?   Christmas, Easter the Sabbath day bring disputes over whether they are PAGAN or is it the right day. So earlier in the last few weeks I overheard a conversation between a sister in Christ when she tried to witness to a person. As she was witnessing he asked her "but what about the Sabbath when do you worship" and she admitted on Sunday. The person then said "what about Christmas do you celebrate" and she said "yes" and he immediately began to talk about the fact that sunday was not the sabbath and Christmas is pagan day and we do not know when Jesus was actually born.
