Lesson on Eternal Security

 Eternal Security

The church is divided on the issue of whether you can you lose your salvation.  The lesson dealt with what is called "Eternal Security." The belief that once you have actually been redeemed and saved into the family of God though Jesus you stay that way. Your salvation cannot be lost because is eternally secure. Scriptures were presented in support of this; so read them an listen to the lesson and be lead by the Holy Spirt.

John 6:37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. New King James Version

1. Jesus will not kick you out of the family of those that are saved, redeemed ," born again" or part of the " church " his spiritual bride.

Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear."

John 10: 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.

2. No one can cause you to lose your salvation not even your own self.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.NIV

John 1: 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.New King James Version

3. These 2 things are true because salvation is a gift, it is not earned by works and cannot be lost by works.

James 2:10 “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

4. No one can do enough good works becasue even one sin condemns without  grace !

1 John 3:20 “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.”

5. Many feel that in order to be save they need feel saved. However Salvation is not based on   feelings. It is a fact based on God's Promises in scripture. Your feeling, like your heart, can condemn while God says you are forgiven.

Some false teachings  regarding eternal security are:

A. The claim that you must do good works to earn your salvation.

B. Sin can cause you to lose your salvation.

C.You cannot know you are saved and need to feel saved.

Romans 8: 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.New International Version

1 John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.New International Version

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,King James Version
